UHS Quickly Scales Telehealth Offerings
When the COVID-19 pandemic reached the U.S., UHS realized very quickly that our hospitals would need to determine alternative ways to deliver care. Our teams developed and enhanced our telehealth offerings to ensure the continuity of care remained intact for patients.
In the Acute Care division, our providers saw more than 55,000 patients via telehealth from mid-March through the end of June. In the first two weeks alone, they logged more than 5,600 telehealth sessions.
In the Behavioral Health division, from April through June, there were more than 30,000 Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and more than 10,000 Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) virtual visits that were provided through our remote telehealth platform.
The patients seen via telehealth underscores how quickly our teams scaled the solution to better provide care for our patients.
