For nearly 45 years, UHS has grown to become a leading provider in healthcare, treating 3.4 million patients in 2022 across our network of care. Your commitment, agility and hard work are at the heart of our legacy and the driving force behind our commitment to transform the future of healthcare delivery.

Our industry continues to face challenges ranging from patient care complexities to rising costs and accessibility issues. Yet UHS continues to lead with our mission to deliver high-quality care and doing what is best for our patients. Every day, we actively seek ways to enhance and optimize care delivery across our network and on an even broader scale as an industry leader.

One example is leveraging technology to increase access to high-quality healthcare, improve patient outcomes and optimize operations. Featured in this issue is more on UHS’ previously announced decision to join leading healthcare systems and digital health companies in Hippocratic AI’s Founding Partner Program. Through our role in this innovative program, we look forward to developing, validating and applying technologies that will evolve how individuals interact with service providers, and in our industry, transform and reshape how patients receive and access care.

Further, we formally announced that UHS is expanding the Oracle Cerner Health electronic health record (EHR) at select Behavioral Health facilities. Our Acute Care hospitals have used Oracle Cerner Health’s technology for a decade. On the Behavioral Health side, we rolled out the EHR at several facilities in 2022 and 2023 with another round scheduled in 2024. We expect the implementation to yield operational efficiencies and to further protect the safety and wellbeing of our patients and staff.

You can find more information on these developments and other breaking news about our company and our people through the UHS Newsroom and UHS LinkedIn, also highlighted in this issue. I encourage you to bookmark both sites to stay up to date on how we’re redefining the healthcare landscape and making a difference in the lives of millions.

And, as always, please take a few moments to find inspiration in testimonials from patients and families who, even during hardships, take time to express their gratitude for the care they receive at our facilities.

With appreciation for all that you do, I wish you and yours a happy and healthy holiday season and New Year
